Our THIRDS and SENIORS sides matched up against the travelling Sandhurst Dragons at Rumbalara on the weekend. Both matches provided valuable game time for players and coaching staff from all sides.
An undermanned THIRDS outfit battled well against challenging odds without a bench, whilst the Dragons at full strength had players to spare. The prevailing wind also frustrated through the match with most scoring through the targets at the North end of the ground.
The SENIOR game was hard fought throughout with the visitors gaining an early lead in the first term, kicking with the wind. At the change the Cats turned the tables maximising every opportunity goalward.
Fighting form continued through the remaining two quarters with some spectacular passages of play for both sides, involving some deft ball handling.
At the siren, the Cats firmly in front of the visiting Dragons.
Many thanks to a large number of spectators from both sides converging on the ground for this second practice match for the MFNC. We appreciate the efforts the Dragons made to travel to the Goulburn Valley for the day and wish them well for Season 2021.
